About me

I am aware that taking this first step and looking for a counsellor can be a very daunting experience and it's important you find the right counsellor for you.  Counselling can enhance your life and be an enlightening and enjoyable experience.

I run my own private practice from my therapy room at home in Bearsted, Maidstone and see clients both face to face and online.

I believe that at some point in our lives, we would all benefit from some counselling to get us back on track.

I work as a humanistic / person-centred counsellor and use aspects of other psychological approaches such as CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy). I am aware that we are all different so I adapt my approach to best suit you, my client.

I understand that sometimes it's difficult to talk about our worries and fears so I can work creatively which can help you to explore your feelings in a different way.

I work in friendly, down to earth and compassionate way which builds a trusting therapeutic relationship and provides a warm, safe, respectful and non-judgemental environment for you to explore and express your feelings and emotions.

Counselling is a unique and individual experience which can enhance your life, it helps you to understand, be kind and begin to like yourself, allowing you to grow as a person and accept who you are.

I support my clients with issues such as; anxiety, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, bereavement, gender identity, self-harm, relationship problems, obesity and many other problems that impact on us all.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
