MBACP BSc (Hons) in Gestalt Counselling

About me

I’m Michelle, a qualified Gestalt therapist specialising in supporting neurodivergent young people and adults in Basingstoke and the surrounding areas. I work with individuals with ADHD, autism, and other forms of neurodiversity who may feel anxious, overwhelmed, exhausted from masking, or misunderstood.

For young people, this may include school anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, sensory overwhelm, or the pressure to mask in social situations. I provide a calm, safe, and non-judgmental space where they can build confidence, self-awareness, and coping strategies that work for them.

For adults, I support those navigating late or recent diagnosis, workplace stress, burnout, relationship challenges, or long-standing feelings of being different. Therapy offers space to explore your experiences, strengthen emotional well-being, and develop authentic strategies to manage everyday life.

Sessions are available in-person in Basingstoke and online across the UK. My approach is collaborative and tailored to your personal goals, helping you feel heard, understood, and supported.

If you are looking for ADHD or autism counselling in Basingstoke, you are welcome to get in touch for a free 30-minute consultation to explore whether we are a good fit.

Couples therapy is different from individual therapy, as our focus is on supporting the wellbeing and growth of your relationship as a whole. Together, we will explore solutions, build on both your individual and shared strengths, and consider how factors such as family background, life experiences, and cultural influences may be shaping your relationship dynamics.

A significant part of relationship therapy focuses on communication—exploring what was said, what was heard, and what was intended. To support progress between sessions, I often suggest practical exercises or activities to work on at home. Most couples engage in a programme of approximately 9–12 sessions, although this can be tailored to your specific needs.

Relationship therapy can be beneficial for couples at many different stages of life. It is suitable for those who are building a future together and want to establish strong communication foundations, as well as couples navigating significant life transitions such as starting or expanding a family, relocating, career changes, retirement, or other major adjustments.

I am a member of the BACP and adhere to their Ethical Framework and Professional Standards in my work.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
