About me
When life feels overwhelming, exhausting, or difficult to carry alone, it can help to have a space where you don’t need to hold everything together.
I specialise in supporting people affected by grief, loss, chronic illness, and the emotional impact of significant health and life changes, alongside general counselling for anxiety, depression, stress, and relationship difficulties.
I’m a degree-qualified counsellor offering face-to-face, online, and telephone counselling for adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. Sessions usually take place from my private therapy room, though home visits may sometimes be arranged where appropriate.
I work with clients facing issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, anger, grief, relationship difficulties, addiction, stress, and major life changes. Alongside general counselling, I have particular experience and interest in supporting people affected by Type 1 Diabetes, chronic illness, infant loss, and other emotionally complex health-related experiences.
I work integratively, which means I adapt therapy around you as an individual rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. Some clients want space to talk openly and feel heard, while others prefer a more structured approach. We can work together in a way that feels right for you.
Working Together
Reaching out for support can feel daunting. You may worry your problems are “not serious enough,” feel unsure where to begin, or struggle to put things into words. You do not need to have everything figured out before starting counselling.
Therapy offers a confidential, supportive space to explore whatever may be affecting you, at a pace that feels manageable. Sessions are guided by what you need and what feels important to you.
You can choose to work face-to-face, online, or by telephone, and this can change depending on what is happening in your life.
Type 1 Diabetes & Chronic Illness Support
Living with Type 1 Diabetes can be emotionally exhausting. The constant decision-making, pressure, fear, burnout, guilt, and mental load can affect every part of life — even when it may not be visible to others.
As a parent of a child with Type 1 Diabetes, I understand first-hand how relentless it can feel. Whether you live with T1D yourself, care for somebody who does, or feel overwhelmed by the emotional impact of long-term health conditions, counselling can offer space to talk openly with somebody who understands the wider impact.
You do not need to talk only about diabetes. Many clients come to therapy for anxiety, relationships, burnout, stress, grief, identity changes, or simply the exhaustion of constantly coping.
Infant Loss
I have completed specialist training with The Foundation for Infant Loss and support parents and loved ones affected by the loss of a baby or child at any stage.
Grief after infant loss can feel deeply isolating and difficult to explain to others. You may be struggling with the loss itself, changes within relationships, anxiety around future pregnancies, trauma responses, or feeling unsure how to move forward while carrying grief.
Counselling offers a space where your experience can be spoken about openly, gently, and without judgement.
Additional Specialist Training
Alongside my core counselling training, I have also completed additional specialist training in infertility counselling through BICA (British Infertility Counselling Association) and in supporting bariatric clients before and after surgery through the Centre for Bariatric Support.
I welcome clients navigating fertility difficulties, medical treatment, body image concerns, emotional eating, adjustment following surgery, and related emotional challenges.
Experience & Background
My background includes working within hospital settings including A&E, children’s wards, and palliative care, where I supported people experiencing illness, uncertainty, trauma, grief, and emotionally challenging situations.
I understand that seeking counselling can feel vulnerable, and I aim to offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you feel safe, supported, and understood.
Free Consultation
I offer a free 30-minute confidential Zoom consultation to explore what brings you to counselling, answer any questions you may have, and help us decide whether we feel like the right fit to work together.
If I feel another therapist or service may better meet your needs, I will always try to help signpost you appropriately.

Training, qualifications & experience
BA (Hons) Counselling – First Class Honours
BICA Advanced Training in Fertility Counselling
Foundation for Infant Loss Specialist Training
Counselling and Nutrition for the Bariatric Patient (Centre for Bariatric Support)
Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Psychology
Alongside my formal qualifications, I regularly undertake continuing professional development (CPD) training in areas including trauma, anxiety, grief and bereavement, shame, safeguarding, conflict resolution, working with men, and supporting clients who may feel “hard to help.”
I also have lived experience of the emotional impact of Type 1 Diabetes within my family, which has given me additional insight into the pressures, fear, burnout, and constant mental load that can come with long-term health conditions.
I have experience working within the NHS, supporting patients and families during some of the most vulnerable and emotionally challenging periods of their lives. My background includes work within hospital nursery settings, children’s wards, A&E, stroke and cancer services, surgical wards, and palliative care environments.
These experiences gave me a deep understanding of how illness, uncertainty, trauma, grief, and major life changes can affect emotional wellbeing, relationships, identity, and day-to-day life.
Alongside private practice, I have also worked as a counsellor within a secondary school and the probation service. These roles deepened my understanding of the long-term impact of trauma, abuse, neglect, loss, low self-esteem, anger, and difficult early-life experiences.
At the heart of my work is the belief that everybody deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported without judgement.
Accessibility & Concessionary Support
I believe counselling should feel as accessible as possible. Alongside my standard practice, I always aim to offer a limited number of concessionary or fully funded spaces for those experiencing financial difficulty.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
