MBACP (Accred)UKRCP and Supervisor Accredite Family Mediator

About me

Experienced Psychotherapist, EMDR Therapist, Counsellor & Family Mediator
Supporting individuals, couples, young people and families for over 25 years.

Taking the first step towards therapy can feel overwhelming. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, relationship difficulties, loss, trauma, or simply feeling that life has become too much, you don't have to face it alone.

I offer a warm, safe and confidential space where you can feel heard, understood and supported without judgement. Together, we'll work at your pace towards the changes you're hoping to achieve.

Why Choose Me?

With over 25 years' experience, I have supported hundreds of clients through life's most challenging times. Alongside my private practice, I supervise counsellors, helping them develop both clinically and professionally, and I work extensively with schools through my counselling company, supporting children and young people.

I am a qualified:

  • Psychotherapist and Counsellor
  • EMDR Therapist
  • Family Mediator
  • Clinical Supervisor

My experience includes working within GP surgeries, Relate, primary and secondary schools, private practice and family homes, giving me a broad understanding of the different challenges people face throughout life.

Starting Therapy

Beginning counselling is a significant decision, and it's natural to feel uncertain.

If you've never had counselling before or you've had therapy in the past but are unsure about starting again, I invite you to book an initial session.

This first appointment is an opportunity for us to meet, discuss what's bringing you to therapy, and explore whether we're the right fit. There is absolutely no pressure to continue afterwards. Take time to reflect and decide what feels right for you.

Research consistently shows that the relationship between therapist and client is one of the strongest predictors of successful therapy. Finding someone you feel comfortable with is an important first step.

How I Can Help

I work with a wide range of issues, including:

  • Anxiety and Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
  • Depression and low mood
  • Trauma and PTSD (including EMDR therapy)
  • Relationship and couples counselling
  • Family conflict
  • Separation and divorce
  • Family mediation
  • Bereavement and loss
  • Stress and burnout
  • Anger management
  • Addiction
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Postnatal depression
  • Abuse and childhood trauma
  • Self-esteem and confidence
  • Young people's emotional wellbeing

If your situation isn't listed, please get in touch. Therapy is tailored to you, and together we can explore what's happening in your life.

Family Mediation

As a qualified Family Mediator, I can help separating couples navigate difficult conversations with care and clarity.

Whether you're making arrangements for children, discussing finances, or trying to reduce conflict, mediation offers a constructive way forward with professional support.

My Approach

Therapy can sometimes feel challenging and emotionally demanding, but you won't go through it alone.

My aim is to build a trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel listened to, respected and genuinely cared for. I believe lasting change happens when people feel safe enough to explore their thoughts, emotions and experiences openly.

Every client is different, which is why I tailor my approach to your individual needs rather than offering a one-size-fits-all solution.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
