About me
Experienced counsellor and EMDR therapist specialising in trauma recovery. You may not have experienced trauma but you may still benefit from this trauma-informed approach as it can ensure emotional safety.
So what happens? I arrange a free Zoom or telephone call introducing myself. You will know whether I am the right therapist for you.
At our first session, I ask you why you’ve come to therapy, what you want to work on and what your end goals are.
Then I truly listen to your story but only if you are ready to tell it – ensuring that you feel both physically and emotionally safe whilst doing so. I will communicate my approach and rationale for any interventions as we go along, making any adjustments based on what you need or concerns.
We can tackle together a variety of issues that's bothering you, this could include:
- Lack of self-compassion and being hard on yourself
- Anxiety and excessive worry
- People-pleasing and being the "fixer"
- Lack of general fulfilment and meaning
- Perfectionism
- Struggle with relationships
- Guilt and shame
- Childhood trauma, neglect, abuse, violence
- Panic and overwhelm
- Suicidality, self harm
- Domestic violence
Together, we define the problem in whatever way works best, but I will not label you as the problem. There’s nothing wrong with you – you’ve just learned to survive the best way you know how.
We'll work together to rewrite your story, tackle those unwanted patterns, and find new ways of being so that you can have a better sense of well-being on YOUR terms. You'll feel empowered as I educate you on your options based on your history, triggers and specific needs whilst giving you an active role in your care.
Are you ready? If you put in the time, the effort, and the work during the therapy process, you will see the benefits.
If you're looking for a warm and friendly therapist, why not drop me a line?

Training, qualifications & experience
I am a trauma-informed integrative therapist and clinical supervisor trained in a range of therapeutic methods; constantly tailoring my work to reflect what you need. I do this by weaving in different theoretical and practice traditions in the field of therapy including Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Existential, Compassionate Inquiry, CBT, EMDR and IFS.
EMDR is a therapy that can process difficult, upsetting or traumatic memories and 'unhook' you from the past so you can live more freely. You may have been traumatised by a recent event. Or perhaps you are struggling with difficult feelings of sadness, anxiety, shame, guilt or frustration that link back to early life. I can work with you to understand your challenges, make links between the past and the present and explore how EMDR can work for you.
Experienced in trauma, PTSD, cancer, grief & loss, domestic violence, abuse and relationship issues. I also work with creatives who struggle with their creative process and self belief, who may have been traumatised during their learning years (e.g. art/music/drama school) and those who may have found themselves wishing to pursue a creative career but stuck in an alternative career that is perhaps, unfulfilling and unrewarding.
I have experience working in the music and television industries and have held posts in the NHS and Central School of Speech and Drama.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Black, African and Asian Therapy Network
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
