About me

Hello and welcome

Life can often feel overwhelming, and there may be times when you find yourself struggling to cope with difficult thoughts, emotions or life's challenges. Reaching out for support can feel like a daunting step, particularly when you may already be feeling vulnerable. I seek to help you explore painful and difficult issues with warmth and compassion, treating you as an individual by respecting your values and working with you at your own pace. I focus on creating a space where  clients feel truly heard when coping with life's challenges alone just feels too much.

I'm an Integrative Counsellor & Psychotheripist and registered member of the BACP, offering face to face or online sessions either short or longer-term. I have over three years' experience supporting clients navigate a range of issues in particular, but not limited to anxiety, depression, grief & bereavement.

My approach is person-centred meaning that our work together is guided by your individual needs and experiences at a pace that meets you where you are at. I work relationally with a deep sense of integrity, holding ethical considerations such as confidentiality and inclusivity, central to my commitment to supporting you. I believe that each person's story is unique, and therapy can offer an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of yourself, your emotions and the patterns that may effect your day-to-day relationships.

I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about what is on your mind. My intention is to help you feel truly heard, understood and supported as we explore your inner thoughts and feelings that may be impacting your wellbeing

I have ongoing experience working within an NHS GP surgery and a local bereavement charity that shape my inclusive and empathic approach to counselling. I also draw on a range of perspectives to support clients exploring early attachments alongside their inner emotional world.  Occassionally I may gently challenge you in a way that can nurture new ways of thinking and form meaningful and lasting changes in how you shape your world.

For the first step, I invite you to get in touch for a free, initial conversation to see if I am the therapist to support you at this time.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
