About me
Are you feeling completely exhausted from trying to navigate a world that was not built for your neurotype? Perhaps you are quietly carrying the invisible, heavy weight of past trauma, or trying to rebuild your sense of self after the confusion of narcissistic or domestic abuse. When you are caught in life’s storms, finding a genuinely safe place to land can feel impossible.
Hi, I am Michelle. Thank you for taking the time to view my profile.
It would be a true privilege to walk alongside you, offering deep understanding, and compassion.
I work in an integrative way, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches and tailoring our work to your individual needs and circumstances. My practice offers a safe, supportive space where you can explore your difficulties at your pace without judgement.
I have experience supporting clients to overcome trauma, abuse, depression, anxiety, grief, loss and discrimination. It would be a pleasure to support you as you navigate your own path.
My aim is to help you gently explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, developing a deeper understanding of yourself. I believe you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to empower you to make the changes that feel right for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a BACP-accredited counsellor with a Level 5 Diploma in Counselling, working from a trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming perspective. My practice is grounded in safety, choice, collaboration, and empowerment, recognising the impact of trauma, relational harm, and loss.
I have undertaken training in:
- Understanding trauma and complex trauma
- Domestic abuse and narcissistic abuse
- Working at relational depth and person-centred psychotherapy
- Safeguarding children and adults
- Children and young people’s mental health
- Childhood sexual abuse
Alongside my counselling work, I bring significant experience from the education sector, where I supported neurodiverse and vulnerable young people and worked as a Designated Safeguarding Officer, advocating for individuals and families within multi-agency settings.
Who I Work With
I work with adults who may be experiencing or recovering from:
- Trauma and complex trauma
- Domestic abuse, including sexual, emotional, psychological, physical, and coercive control
- Narcissistic abuse and relational harm
- Bereavement and loss, including complicated or traumatic grief
- Anxiety, low mood, and emotional overwhelm
- Loneliness, identity struggles, and low self-esteem
- Neurodivergent experiences, including autism and ADHD
- The impact of childhood adversity
I offer a calm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. I am especially mindful of how trauma, grief, and neurodiversity can affect emotional safety and trust, and I adapt my approach to meet you where you are.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Your First Session
I offer a free 20-minute telephone consultation so we can get to know each other a little and see whether working together feels right for you. There’s no pressure or commitment - it’s simply a chance for you to ask questions, share what feels comfortable, and get a sense of how I work.
Feeling safe and at ease is really important in counselling. If we decide to move forward together, the next step is an initial assessment session. This is a relaxed and supportive space where I’ll gently learn more about you, your experiences, and what has led you to seek counselling, at a pace that feels right for you.
After this session, you’re welcome to book ongoing sessions if you feel ready to continue.
The fee for the assessment session is £50.
