About me

If you are struggling with your mental health it can be hard to reach out for support but being here looking for the right counsellor for you is that first step.

I am a qualified counsellor and member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

As an integrative counsellor I understand there isn't a one size fits all approach when it comes to your mental health. While the main theory I use is a person centred approach which means that you are the expert on your own experiences and you will lead on what we focus on during our sessions, I am also able to use other theories that may help support you.

By using an integrative approach I am able to tailor our work together to help support you in the best possible way while also adhering to the BACP code of Ethics to ensure that we are working safely together.

I am down to earth, friendly and caring. I am not here to judge you or tell you what to do but I will offer understanding and empathy while supporting you through this process of self exploration in a confidential space and at your own pace.

I am passionate about my work, I am always learning new information or techniques. This means I can support you in a way that fits best for you, to help you through the tough times that life puts in your path.

Please feel free to call, text or email me to arrange a free initial consultation to see if I am the right fit for you. I look forward to hearing from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked with a wide variety of people who have come for support for a variety of needs.

I am trained in an integrative approach to counselling so use a variety of techniques to support the people that I work with. I am also a trained in working with domestic abuse and postive relationships.

I have worked with clients who have had a bereavement, including traumatic or sudden deaths, have been a victim of domestic abuse (both male and female), struggling with setting boundaries, stress and burnout among other presenting issues.

I have experience of working with drug and alcohol users supporting clients with a variety of mental health concerns including exploring their past traumas and how this may have had an impact on their current situation, their current anxiety and stress, relationships and how to move forward while going through their recovery.

I have also worked with adult carers, supporting these clients with bereavement and loss of self, anxiety, and changes to their relationships among other issues.

I work in a variety of ways that fit my clients including via telephone and online video calls using Teams and WhatsApp, as well as working face to face so I am happy to work in a way that feels comfortable for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
