About me
The biggest step we take is asking for help. That initial contact can be daunting. Talking therapies are just that, talking through what is happening for us at present in our lives. Having a safe and confidential space to explore our thoughts and feelings can help us to navigate through the things that could be affecting our daily lives.
I am a qualified therapeutic counsellor, Neuro-Linguistic Programming practitioner and a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. As a registered member of the BACP, I am committed to providing that safe and confidential space, working within the ethical framework and guidelines for good practice. Listening without judgement, giving empathy and respect to the client, I can help them work through their thoughts, feelings and emotions. By understanding these, it can bring round positive changes. I believe building a good relationship between the counsellor and client is a key part of the process. This allows the client to feel comfortable to talk freely.
My practice is integrative, which means I can draw on a range of counselling theories and techniques to best suit the unique needs of each client. Some may find talking enough, others might need a more goal-oriented approach. A person’s reason for counselling differs, and the counselling differs to each person. Together, we can explore thoughts and feelings to help promote a positive change and a calming of the mind. Sometimes our thoughts and beliefs are not helpful to us. Recognising these and the reasons for them enables us to bring change into our lives.
Our internal voice is not always helpful. Words can play an important part in our beliefs and how our mind works. Understanding them and the impact they have on subconscious mind can allow us to bring change. I can help bring this change by using NLP (neurolinguistic programming) on subconscious thoughts and beliefs. Working together towards finding useful coping strategies and/or setting goals within a safe space can promote a sense of achievement, self-confidence, self-esteem and a calmer mind.
My experience is working with adults in a variety of settings, including private practice, a non-profit organisation, and for a professional counselling agency. I can offer counselling via phone call, video call or face-to-face in Burnham on Crouch, Essex. Alongside the therapeutic counselling qualification I have, I regularly undertake professional development to ensure my practice remains current and effective.
If you are considering counselling or would like to find out more, please feel free to get in touch for an initial conversation. I look forward to supporting you on your journey.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
