About me

Welcome. My name is Michelle.  I’ve spent over a decade in the counselling industry and can offer a warm, down to earth perspective and a wealth of expertise, tools and strategies, in a comfortable and relaxed environment.

What's going on for you right now?

Happy New Year - 0r is it?  Perhaps 2023 wasn't quite how you expected it to be.  Does 2024 symbolise pressure or possibility?  Are there challenges you'd like to overcome or experiences you'd like to unpack?  As a practitioner I’m solution-focussed but by no means prescriptive.  My work is client-centred, I will tailor each session to fit your needs with empathy, realism and sensitivity.

-  If you are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or exhausted I can provide tools and reassurance to support you.

- Maybe you find yourself at a crossroads in your career or personal life, unsure what the future holds. I can help you make sense of your situation and act as your sounding board.

 - If you’ve experienced a loss, I can offer you a space to process it. We can work through the grief together.

- Or perhaps you find yourself slipping into unhealthy habits, seeking solace in food or alcohol? I can guide you in identifying triggers and share strategies to overcome cravings and safety behaviours.

It’s been (and still is) a tough time for many, but you don’t have to get through it alone.  In a safe space we’ll work at your pace, in your own way, without judgement.

If you are struggling, please get in touch to see if I can help.

Make 2024 the year you invest in yourself.  I'm currently booking assessment appointments for therapy sessions starting in January.

***I endeavour to respond to all enquiries within 48 working hours.  Please check your junk mail and/or contact me again if you don't hear from me to ensure my reply to you has not gotten lost!***

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
