About me

You’ve probably spent a long time holding it all together. Not just for yourself, but for everyone else too. Maybe it seems to be working. Or maybe it’s quietly wearing you down.

You do not have to carry it all on your own. I offer a calm, steady space to explore what is really going on underneath the surface, without pressure or judgement. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low, or stuck in patterns that are hard to shift, we can begin gently and go at your pace.

 A kind and supportive space
I am Michele Hunt, a fully qualified integrative counsellor and EMDR therapist based in Croxley Green, near Rickmansworth. I work with adults who are navigating anxiety, low self-worth, stress, trauma, or the emotional impact of past experiences, including emotional or sexual abuse.

Many of the people I work with tell me they finally feel seen, gently understood, and more able to trust themselves. You do not need to have the right words or know where to start. We begin with whatever feels most present for you and take it from there.

EMDR therapy now available
EMDR therapy is now available with me in person. EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing. It is a structured and evidence-based approach that helps the brain and body process distressing memories or emotional patterns that feel stuck.

EMDR can be helpful when talking therapy has brought insight but not relief. It can support healing from anxiety, overwhelm, low self-esteem, and trauma. We always take time to build safety first, and I will support you to move at a pace that feels right for you.

 How I work
My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I draw from Person-Centred Therapy, CBT, Transactional Analysis, and Psychodynamic ideas. I integrate EMDR where it may be helpful, always guided by what feels safe and supportive for you.

Sessions are reflective and spacious, offering room to explore thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a way that feels manageable and grounded.
