About me

Hi, Thank you for taking the first step in finding me here. Please contact me for a free initial consultation so that you can get a sense as to whether you feel I am a good fit for you. I look forward to offering you a safe, comfortable, non-judgemental and warm place in which to reflect on any challenging life situations that you may be facing right now.

We all face times in our lives’ when we just need some space to be still and reflect, a space where we feel accepted, understood, and supported in gaining a deeper awareness into why we feel the way we do and how we can develop a greater understanding of self and how to move forward in a more positive way.

I offer short and long term therapy in-person, online and by phone. I'm also available for one-off sessions if needed.

Training, qualifications & experience

Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling,

I have worked within the NHS offering short term therapy (6-12 weeks) and have also worked within an a low-cost agency offering open ended therapy. I enjoy working with adults and young people of all ages, from all walks of life and I am passionate about helping people to find their best self. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and adhere to their ethical framework.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

My fees are £60 per session (50 minutes).

Initially I would recommend we have a chat over zoom or on the phone for about 15-20 minutes in which you can ask me some questions and we can discuss your reason/s for counselling. An introductory session is a great way for you to get a sense of me and whether you feel I am a good fit for you. After which if you feel comfortable we can then arrange a mutual time and day in which to start.

I do have a limited number of concession or reduced fee spaces available.

Further information

What to expect from our first session:

Our first session together is a time for us to get to know each other and for us to explore the issues that are causing distress in your life and for you to ask any questions about how we might work together. This will also give you a chance to get a sense of whether you feel you could work with me, and for you to decide whether we are a good fit. It is so important that you feel comfortable with whomever you choose to work with and I hope this will be where our journey together begins.
