About me

I offer psychological therapy and counselling to people who want a chance to explore in depth, emotional issues they are experiencing, or who think it might help them to have a psychological understanding of difficulties in their everyday lives. During the first session, we would discuss the problem and develop an understanding of why it is happening. This will help us to understand whether counselling is the right course of action for you. I provide friendly and compassionate support through this process, as well as gentle encouragement to develop new ways of understanding what you are experiencing. I also help people to explore challenging issues that can be difficult to discuss with others in one's life.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have practised as a clinical psychologist for almost 20 years in the NHS. This has given me a broad range of experience. I specialise in the field of eating disorders, and also have worked with many people who are suffering from the effects of past trauma, abuse, or who are going through depression or anxiety.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
