About me
Counsellor - Adolescents, Young Adults & Adults.
I have been providing counselling services for several years, working across a range of settings to support the mental health and wellbeing of adolescents, young adults and adults.
My approach to counselling is straightforward and uncomplicated. I provide a safe, calm and non-judgemental environment for people to talk about any difficulties, issues or challenges they are dealing with - working at the client's pace, no rush, no pressure.
Being an integrative counsellor means that I use elements from various therapeutic approaches so I can adapt sessions to best support the needs, issues and personality of each individual client. For some adolescent clients that may include creative, visual or play-based approaches.
Clients are free to talk about whatever matters most to them or is on their mind and without restriction - emotions, thoughts, past or present situations. This may include, but is not limited to, experiences with anxiety, depression, family difficulties, bereavement & loss, low self esteem and relationship challenges, all explored at a pace that feels comfortable for each client.
I welcome and work with people of all ages, backgrounds, identities and genders and have experience of supporting neurodiverse individuals with ADHD and autism.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified counsellor and hold a CPCAB Level 5 Diploma in Counselling Children & Young People (CYP) and CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I am currently completing the CPCAB Level 6 Diploma in Trauma-Focused Counselling.
My counselling experience includes working for Place2Be, the UK's leading provider of school-based mental health counselling support, Your Space Therapies - a Sussex based provider of therapeutic support in schools and a Brighton-based charity supporting adults in crisis. I also work in private practice with all client groups.
Before training as a counsellor, I spent 20 years in senior corporate roles. This experience has given me valuable insight into the pressures and challenges individuals face in both their personal and professional lives.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

I offer a free first session to see if working together feels like a good fit. This session is arranged following a brief telephone consultation. For adolescent clients, the first session can include time with the referring parent(s) or carer(s).
I work with both short-term and open-ended counselling approaches, with a minimum commitment of six sessions.
