About me
My name is Mel. I'm a specialist trauma therapist based in Gateshead, in the north east of England.
I am an accredited EMDR therapist and I am also qualified in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy. My specialism is to work with the way in which trauma has impacted on us through our lives, so we are no longer held back by the past. I have additional training in using attachment-informed EMDR, as I believe that it is important to not only focus on experiences of trauma when we are wanting to heal, but also to find important formative experiences that have shaped who we are.
I have a special interest in working with people who have struggled to get their needs met by the NHS or other statutory services. Whilst I have no formal or specific training in working with neurodivergence, I am keen to support individuals who are neurodivergent - either self diagnosed, formally diagnosed, or who may suspect they are!
I look forward to hearing from you!
