About me

Living with a long-term health condition can affect far more than your physical health. Alongside managing symptoms, appointments and treatment, you may also be coping with anxiety, low mood, uncertainty or a sense of loss for the life you once had.

Perhaps you've started avoiding activities because you're worried about becoming breathless, triggering pain or making your symptoms worse. Or maybe you find yourself pushing through on "good days", only to experience a flare-up afterwards. You may feel frustrated that others don't fully understand your experience, overwhelmed by the demands of managing your condition, or caught in a cycle where stress and anxiety seem to make your symptoms even worse.

If this sounds familiar, you're not alone.

I am a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with over 11 years' experience working within NHS and private mental health services. While I work with adults experiencing anxiety and depression, I have developed a specialist interest in supporting people living with long-term health conditions through my NHS work and additional training.

Using evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), I'll help you understand how your thoughts, emotions, behaviours and physical symptoms influence one another, so we can break unhelpful patterns and develop practical ways of coping. I also incorporate elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), focusing on your values and what matters to you, alongside Compassion Focused Therapy to develop self-compassion.

Therapy won't change your diagnosis, but it can help reduce the distress it creates, build confidence and help you reconnect with the things that matter most to you.

I offer face-to-face CBT appointments in Lancing, West Sussex, as well as online therapy for adults across the UK.

If you're looking for a CBT therapist who understands both anxiety and depression and the emotional and cognitive impact of living with a long-term health condition, I'd be pleased to discuss how we can work together.
