About me
You might be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure whether change is possible. Perhaps you’re having difficulties in relationships, navigating a long-standing struggle, or facing a sudden crisis. Together we can reflect on how past experiences shape your present and work to uncover the roots of your difficulties. This greater understanding of yourself can enhance your self-awareness, emotional well-being, and the potential for a more fulfilling life and relationships.
I offer in-person sessions at my consulting room in central Winchester or online sessions via Zoom. While I generally work in open-ended way, we can work within a specific timeframe if that feels more appropriate for you. To help you decide whether working with me is the right step, I offer a brief free of charge initial telephone conversation, where we can talk about what you might be looking for from therapy.
I am a professionally qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist, a member of the BACP, and a registered psychodynamic counsellor with the BPC. I have a Masters in Psychotherapy and alongside my private practice in Winchester, I have many years experience working with a wide variety of patients.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a member of BACP and a registered Psychodynamic Counsellor with the BPC. I have a Masters Degree in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from the University of London, following earlier training at WPF Counselling. Alongside my private practice, I have worked as a counsellor in university education for many years, and for a cancer charity. I also have experience working as a counsellor in hospice care and am currently undertaking further training at The Institute of Psychoanalysis.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Starting therapy can feel daunting, but staying stuck can feel harder. I understand it’s a big step, and I’m here to support you. Together, we can explore what’s troubling you and find a way forward. If you’re ready, get in touch and we will begin with a brief phone call before meeting for a 60 minute initial consultation. We would then have the time to think about what brings you here now, and to gain a more in depth understanding of you. It is also an important chance for you to see if you might find my way of working helpful to you. If we think it would be useful, we can have a second consultation, again for 60 minutes, before deciding whether to work together in once weekly sessions.
I look forward to hearing from you.
