About me
Counsellor for when you feel stuck and unable to move forward
You might find yourself going over things—trying to understand them, or make sense of how you got here.
Perhaps you’re caught in anxiety, guilt, shame or self-criticism. Or it could be something recent, or something from the past that hasn’t fully settled.
A relationship, a loss, a life transition, or simply a feeling that something isn’t quite right.
You don’t need to have clear answers before starting.
A sense that something needs attention is enough.
What you might notice over time
Change in counselling rarely happens all at once.
More often, it’s gradual—a little more clarity here, a little less heaviness there.
People often find they begin to understand themselves more deeply, feel less overwhelmed, and develop greater self-compassion and self-acceptance.

Training, qualifications & experience
How I work
I offer a calm, confidential space where you can talk openly, at your own pace.
There’s no pressure to have the right words or to know where to begin.
We start with whatever feels most present and explore it together.
I won’t tell you what to think or what to do.
Instead, I’ll help you slow things down, make sense of your experience, and—over time—find your own way forward.
My background
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent nearly 30 years working in secondary schools, supporting young people and families, many navigating additional needs and neurodiversity.
I also know personally what it’s like to feel stuck in something that once made sense—but no longer does.
That experience, and my own counselling, shaped the way I work today.
Getting in Touch
If something here feels familiar, you’re very welcome to get in touch to see whether working together feels right for you.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I offer a free introductory conversation before booking a session. It’s an opportunity to ask questions, talk briefly about what has brought you to counselling, and get a sense of whether working together feels right. There’s no pressure to make a decision.
If you decide to continue, our first counselling session is a relaxed conversation about what’s brought you here and what you might want to explore. You can share as much or as little as feels comfortable.
I offer both short-term and open-ended counselling.
