Existential Psychotherapist. MBACP

About me

You don't have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Perhaps you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, stuck in the same patterns, struggling in your relationships, or simply don't feel like yourself anymore. You may have spent a long time holding everything together for everyone else while quietly wondering why life feels so difficult.

I offer existential psychotherapy for individuals and couples in Stockport and online across the UK. I work with people who want to better understand themselves, their emotions, and the patterns that keep them feeling stuck. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, low self esteem, relationship difficulties, trauma, life transitions, or a sense that something important is missing, therapy offers a space to slow down and make sense of your experience.

Many people come to therapy because they notice the same difficulties repeating in different areas of life. You may overthink everything, feel disconnected from yourself or others, struggle to trust, lose confidence, experience emotional loneliness, or find yourself questioning who you are or where your life is going. Sometimes there is no single reason, just a growing feeling that things cannot continue as they are.

Alongside individual therapy, I work with couples who feel disconnected, misunderstood, or caught in recurring cycles of conflict. Together, we explore what lies beneath these patterns, helping you understand one another more deeply and rebuild connection.

My work is grounded in existential psychotherapy, which explores how we relate to ourselves, the people around us, and the experiences that shape our lives. Rather than offering quick fixes, I provide a thoughtful, compassionate space where we can explore your difficulties at their roots, helping you develop greater self understanding, emotional resilience, and more fulfilling relationships.

Together we may explore:

Anxiety and overthinking
Relationship and attachment difficulties
Low self-esteem and self-confidence
Stress and emotional overwhelm
Trauma and difficult life experiences
Life transitions and uncertainty
Loss and grief
Identity, purpose and existential questions

I offer a calm, warm and non-judgemental environment where you don't need to have all the answers or even know exactly what you're feeling. Many of the people I work with have spent years trying to understand themselves on their own, yet still feel emotionally stuck. Therapy can help you move beyond simply coping towards living with greater clarity, authenticity and connection.

My role isn't to judge, label or tell you who you should be. Instead, I work alongside you with curiosity, compassion and respect, supporting you to understand yourself more deeply and create meaningful, lasting change.

Taking the first step

Reaching out for therapy can feel daunting, especially if you're used to carrying things on your own or aren't sure why you're struggling. You don't need to have everything figured out before you begin. Often, understanding grows through the therapeutic process itself.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
