Mary Flack FdSc MBACP
I am a BACP Counsellor based in Horsham and Dorking.
Sometimes life can feel overwhelming and a constant struggle. Counselling gives you the space and opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings.
I offer a calm, non-judgemental and confidential space for you to make sense of the problems you may be facing right now. I aim to help you find ways of coping better with the present, and gain a deeper understanding of yourself, increasing your self-esteem and confidence, thus allowing you to move forward to a more fulfilled way of living.
I strongly believe in the power we all have within ourselves to change and make a difference in our lives. As your therapist I will aim to facilitate and encourage you to trust yourself, make your own choices and find your own answers.
I work with adults and youths aged 12+ with issues including anxiety, stress, depression, panic attacks, bereavement, self-esteem, eating disorders and a loss of direction. In addition to my private practice, I work for the NHS Youth Counselling Service (NHS Mindsight Surrey CAMHS Service) in a busy GP’s Surgery in Surrey and also as a Counsellor in a Place2Be School in London.
My counselling approach is centred around you, focussing on you and what you wish to gain from therapy. Together we can explore the difficulties you are experiencing, helping you to gain a better understanding of them and enabling you to find ways to cope better with your personal situation.
I offer one-to-one counselling appointments from a comfortable private room in Horsham. I also work in Dorking. A free of charge initial 30-minute consultation is available for you to talk about your counselling requirements and find out more about the way I work. You can also text or email me with any questions you may have about counselling.
Horsham, Grove House is 5-10 mins walk from Horsham Railway Station. There is ample free parking and there is wheelchair access. Dorking therapy room is located in town centre.
As a Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), I adhere to their strict code of ethics.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
