About me
I am an integrative psychotherapist working with children and adults, and a qualified Somatic Experiencing practitioner. I also offer parenting work for parents who would like to improve relationship with their child.
My approach is integrative, drawing on psychodynamic, humanistic and behavioural perspectives to support each client’s unique needs. Attachment theory is central to my work, and I believe in the therapeutic relationship as a powerful agent of change. I offer a safe, non-judgemental space where you can feel seen and understood allowing for meaningful and corrective experiences to unfold. I also incorporate somatic work, informed by the Somatic Experiencing model, alongside neuroscience and polyvagal theory, to support mind–body awareness and nervous system regulation.
Additionally, I use play and arts with younger clients. I am interested in what they might be communicating non-verbally through their behaviour and play. Together we look beneath the surface of difficult emotions and behaviours to see what is at the core of the problem. Painful, confused, hurt or angry feelings can be put into words or expressed through art and play. Gradually a child or a young person can make a sense of their story, feelings and actions.
If you are an adult struggling with life’s challenges, perhaps experiencing relationship difficulties, anxiety, lack of confidence, loss of a job or a relative, together we can work through it. Psychotherapy can expand your awareness of feelings and clarify how early experiences and current believes shape your life. It can also mitigate their detrimental effects, eventually transforming them into new, healthier ways of being in the world.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold an MA in Integrative Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychotherapy and am UKCP full clinical member.
I am also a qualified Somatic Experiencing practitioner. This body-based approach recognises that the effects of trauma are often held within the nervous system, not just in our memories. By gently bringing awareness to bodily sensations, we can begin to process and release what may feel stuck, at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
Somatic Experiencing can be particularly helpful when talking alone doesn’t fully reach the depth of your experience. Through this work, clients often develop a greater connection to themselves and capacity to regulate their nervous system.
I have been providing therapeutic services for children, adolescents and adults since 2013. I have worked with a broad range of issues including anxiety, depression, anger management, bereavement, domestic abuse, developmental trauma, ADHD, autism, PDA, self-harm, relationship difficulties, existential issues and gender identity issues.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
