About me

I believe that having the right space to talk can make all the difference. As a person-centred counsellor, I offer a warm, confidential, and non-judgemental environment where you can explore whatever is on your mind at your own pace. Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, and you don’t have to navigate that alone. My aim is to provide a safe, supportive space where you feel genuinely heard, accepted, and understood.

My approach is rooted in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. Rather than telling you what you should do, I work alongside you to help you make sense of your experiences, your feelings, and the challenges you may be facing. Sometimes people come to counselling with a clear issue they want to work on, while others simply know that something doesn’t feel quite right. Both are equally valid starting points.

I have experience supporting people with anxiety, low mood, stress, life transitions, self-esteem issues, and relationship difficulties. Whatever brings you to counselling, I will meet you with empathy, respect, and authenticity. Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of what I do, because I believe real change often begins when we feel safe enough to be ourselves without fear of judgment.

Alongside my person-centred training, I am also trained and qualified to offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). This allows me to begin integrating practical tools and techniques, where appropriate, to help clients understand patterns between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. For some people, having a gentle structure alongside open exploration can be particularly helpful, and I am developing this integrative approach as part of my ongoing professional development.

I am currently able to offer sessions to new clients and welcome enquiries from adults seeking support. Reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step, and it’s completely normal to feel unsure at first. You may be wondering whether counselling is right for you, or whether you will feel comfortable talking to someone new. These are very natural concerns.

Finding the right counsellor is a very personal process. Research consistently shows that the relationship you feel with your counsellor is one of the most important factors in successful therapy. For that reason, I encourage you to trust your instincts. It’s important that you feel comfortable, respected, and able to connect with the person you choose to work with. If that feels like me, I would be very glad to hear from you.

I offer an initial conversation so you can get a sense of how I work and ask any questions you may have. There is no pressure or obligation – just an opportunity to see whether we might be a good fit.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
