About me

Sometimes life is difficult and we can feel stuck and not know where to turn. Perhaps relationships are a struggle or maybe work and family pressures are difficult to manage. Perhaps you find yourself going round a familiar pattern and are having difficulty seeing how things might be different or maybe life has dealt you the odd blow and knocked your confidence leaving you feeling lonely and confused.

I understand that talking to someone about your problems can feel pretty daunting and I will offer you a warm, respectful, confidential and supportive space to explore what's worrying you and find positive new ways to manage your difficulties so that life can feel more fulfilling.

I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor and have degree in Integrative Relational Counselling. This means that I am able to draw on a number of different theories to support our work together and find the ones that seem to work best for you.

I work with couples, individuals and young people over 16 who are experiencing a range of problems such as relationship issues, work issues, bereavement, loss of job and/or health, depression, anxiety, abortion, low self esteem and childhood abuse.

I can offer you a short term contract (6- 12 sessions) to work with a specific issue or we can work longer term if you would prefer ongoing support to discover deeper personal meaning and purpose.

I offer daytime appointments and some evenings with the latest appointment at 8pm. Saturday morning appointments may be negotiable.

What Next?

Why not contact me for an initial consultation which will allow us both to get a feel for what it might be like to work together. There is no obligation to continue counselling after this.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
