About me
Sometimes it is hard to know who you can share your thoughts with. During stressful times psychotherapy can be helpful.
I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgmental place to talk about whatever is troubling you. We would focus on difficulties you are having in the present and their underlying causes, often from your past. Attention is paid to beliefs and feelings you might not be aware of, but which affect how you feel, behave or engage in relationships.
Having a space to think with a trained psychotherapist allows you to make sense of your behaviours and the dynamics of your relationships with those around you and you feel the way you do. In turn, this can profoundly change the course of your life and help you be more fulfilled.
It can feel daunting to begin therapy. We would have an initial telephone conversation with a view to meeting in person to think further what has brought you to therapy and you get a feel of what it would be like for us to work together. If we decide to continue we would meet weekly for 50min sessions.
I am a qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist. I offer in-person therapy from consulting rooms in London NW3 (West Hampstead).
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained at The Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust an ECPS as a psychodynamic psychotherapist (BPC; TSP; ECPS). I work with individuals of all ages from child to adult.
Prior to working privately, I was a clinician within Social Services offering therapeutic support as part of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services team (CAMHS), working with a range of needs and high-level trauma.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.
BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
