About me

Whatever you are struggling with right now, I know how hard it can be to find a trustworthy person to talk to. You may be feeling anxious much of the time and finding yourself lying awake at night over-thinking and worrying about situations that are outwith your control.  Or perhaps you are just feeling a bit down and disillusioned with how things are in your life at the moment, and you are no longer experiencing happiness or enjoyment in anything that you do. This may be causing tension and conflict in your close relationships, and having a negative impact on your self-confidence and sense of self-worth.

I believe that a safe and trusting relationship is at the heart of good therapy, and just having someone listen to your story can lead to the possibility of change. In the relaxed and welcoming space that I offer, I will listen to you without judgement, and will offer you honesty and acceptance in how I respond. My warm and friendly nature makes me very easy to talk to, and I will gently help you begin to explore and make sense of whatever it is that is troubling you, at a pace that feels right for you.  We will work together to help you find and re-connect with your inner values and sense of self-worth, so that you can feel more complete and content in your life.

Introductory Calls and Initial Sessions

I know how difficult it can be to find the right therapist. I also understand the importance of feeling trust and connection with your counsellor so that you can speak openly and honestly about your difficulties. That is why I offer a free 15-minute introductory telephone call followed by a reduced fee of £20 for our first session together. This will allow you to get a sense of who I am as a therapist and what it might be like to work with me.

Enquiries

  • If you would like to find out more about working with me, then please send me an email or a text message. I will try my best to respond to your enquiry within 24 hours.
  • I will then send you some more information about me and how I work. I will also ask you for some information to help me understand what you hope to get from counselling.
  • We can then arrange a suitable date and time for your free 15-minute introductory call.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
