About me

I provide counselling and psychotherapy to individuals and couples from my private practices on the High Street in Tunbridge Wells and in Rotherfield, East Sussex.

My Tunbridge Wells practice is located centrally to ensure convenience and ease of parking, whilst my Rotherfield practice is set in idyllic, restorative countryside. In the safe and confidential environment of my therapy rooms, clients feel free to bring any issue, concern or aspiration in the knowledge that they will be wholeheartedly listened to with empathy, respect, positive unconditional regard and without judgement.

As a Transactional Analysis practitioner, part of my role is to help clients to realise their full potential, by updating strategies for dealing with life which are no longer working for them, replacing them with new ones that do work and enabling them to solve problems using a persons full resources as a grown-up. As part of this process, I work with clients to help live a more balanced, happy, self-assured life in the here-and-now. In doing so, clients achieve genuine autonomy:- self awareness, spontaneity and the capacity for real and meaningful relationships.

I belief that the relationship between therapist and client is the most important factor in helping to successfully heal and promote personal growth and, if necessary, change.

My aim is to actively and empathically listen to what you have to say in order to help you to get in touch with, understand and express your thoughts and feelings about issues that cause you concern. I want to help you to explore probable sources of your concerns and to co-jointly develop strategies for managing these thoughts and feelings and their accompanying behavioural manifestations.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

UKATA

UK Association for Transactional Analysis

UKATA (formally the Institute of Transactional Analysis) is the national UK Transactional Analysis organisation representing all fields of TA theory and practice. TA can be used as an effective tool in a wide range of contexts such as: personal development, management, coaching, counselling, psychotherapy, teaching, education, parenting and more.

Fees

Please feel free to contact me on 07776140440 to arrange a free 15-minute, no obligation, telephone consultation or email.

During this consultation, we can explore how I might be able to help you and whether or not you would like to attend an initial, 50-minute, therapy session at a mutually agreeable date and time. During our initial session, we can explore what brings you to therapy and how we might work together to achieve your desired aims. If you feel that I am the right therapist for you, and we can work together, we will contract for an agreed number of sessions, normally 6-8, subject to midway review.

My fees comprise:-

  • Individuals:
    • £50
  • Couples:
    • £75 for 90-minute sessions
    • £60 for 60-minute sessions

I also offer discounted and means-tested rates for certain individuals, including those who are:

  • unemployed;
  • in receipt of income and/or disability benefits;
  • OAPs; and
  • students.

I am happy to discuss discounted fees with you during our initial telephone consultation.
