About me
I offer a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can feel comfortable exploring your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.
I understand that reaching out for counselling can sometimes feel daunting, particularly if you are used to managing things on your own or find it difficult to talk about what is troubling you. My aim is to provide a safe and accepting environment where you feel listened to, understood and valued as an individual.
Life can bring challenges that leave us feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low or uncertain about the way forward. You may be experiencing difficulties in your relationships, struggling with self-esteem, coping with loss or navigating changes in your life. Sometimes, you may simply feel that something isn't quite right and want the opportunity to explore this in a supportive space.
My approach to counselling is integrative. I believe that the counselling relationship is an important part of the process, and I aim to work collaboratively with you, respecting your individual needs, experiences and circumstances. I will not judge you or tell you how to live your life, but will support you in developing a deeper understanding of yourself and exploring what feels right for you.
I recognise that everyone's experiences are different, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling. Together, we can explore the difficulties you are facing, at a pace that feels comfortable for you, supporting you to progress towards your goals.
I am able to support you with the following areas:
- Anxiety, stress and worry.
- Low mood and depression.
- Bereavement and loss.
- Low self-esteem and confidence.
- Trauma and difficult past experiences.
- Feeling stuck, overwhelmed or uncertain about the future.
- Work-related stress and burnout.
- Neurodiversity support.
I truly believe that all clients can progress towards their desired goals, and see it as an honor to help facilitate this.
If you feel ready to take that first step, I welcome you to get in touch to discuss whether counselling with me might be right for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am able to work with children/young people and adults, as I also hold a Level 5 certificate in working with Children and Young People in addition to my Level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Practice.
I have come to counselling later in life after 20+ years in the teaching profession. I have a wealth of experience in supporting children and young people, particularly from the ages of 12+, including neurodiverse individuals. Having my own neurodiverse diagnoses, I feel well placed to provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment for all clients, including neurodiverse clients.
