About me
Hi I'm Lynne, I'm a qualified Integrative Counsellor/Psychotherapist based in Falkirk, I have a strong passion for working with individuals experiencing addiction issues, especially alcohol and drug misuse. Addiction can have devastating effects on individuals and families alike, it is not always the person affected by addiction who suffers, it can be family members, colleagues and friends that are also effected. There can be a domino effect - seeking help is the first step to recovery.
Furthermore, I'm a general counsellor working with individuals presenting with; anxiety, depression, grief, neurodiversity, suicidal ideation, low self-esteem, social anxiety and more.
In addition, I also provide counselling for counsellors/therapists, I am aware of the importance of keeping yourself mentally well to work with clients.
I pride myself in being an authentic, genuine person with empathy and compassion for others.
What does Integrative Counsellor mean: I am trained in three different modalities, which include:
- Person Centred Therapy
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Psychodynamic Therapy
Possessing all three modalities means I can pull from any of these modalities during sessions, I would utilise whatever modality that suits your needs at the time, or what I feel would benefit you the most, or of course your own preference.
Our First Contact
The initial telephone consultation is provided free of charge, this giving you a chance to tell me a bit more about what is happening for you, and also what you wish to gain from therapy sessions, this normally lasts around 20-30 mins or so.
If you are interested in finding out more about therapy sessions, please do not hesitate to pick up the phone, email or message me. Counselling can be very daunting if you have never attended counselling before, there is nothing to worry about, I am here to provide a safe, confidential, warm and welcoming space for you to explore whatever brings you to therapy. I believe myself to be a very approachable, non-judgemental person who has advanced empathy for others.
My therapy room is located in my garden, in a semi-rural location, and on a good day you can see over the Ochil Hills and out to the Clackmannanshire bridge, furthermore, clients have expressed how calming the location is for them.
I believe that - "A problem shared, is a problem halved" Talking to someone is the best way to relieve the feelings that you may have bottled up for so long...
I look forward to hearing from you if you feel I could help you...
Best wishes,
Lynne
