About me

My name is Lynn Turner. I have over 28 years counselling, therapy and life coaching experience. For many years I worked in addiction rehabs as the Clinical Lead and Service Manager for two rehabs in London and as COO for a rehab in Switzerland. I specialise in addiction recovery, anxiety, depression, bereavement, abusive relationships (including recovery from relationships with sociopaths and narcissists). I work with individuals and couples. I offer weekly face to face or online sessions.

I provide a non-judgemental, safe, confidential and professional space for you to talk about, and work through, your problems.

I believe the counselling relationship needs to be authentic, honest and safe in order for healthy change to happen.

Clients come for counselling when they are depressed, in crisis, have experienced trauma, feel confused or stuck in life. Whatever the reason my role is to listen, understand and then help you to explore your options and goals.

Our first meeting will be an assessment consultation Fee's are

Individuals sessions  £80 before 6pm £90 after 6pm (50 minute sessions)

Couple sessions are £150  (1 hour sessions)

This time is for us to get to know each other a little, to explore what brings you to counselling and for us to plan a way forward. I endeavour to work at the pace that suits you. I do not believe one size fits all, but that every client is unique, so my approach thoughtfully embraces different methods and strategies as needed.

I believe in empowering clients, helping them to discover their own solutions and potential. I am not the expert on you or your life, but am here to enable you to understand yourself; to find out what is causing your pain and to support you while change happens.

Counselling and therapy can lead to a deeper understanding of problem areas in your life and a growth in self-awareness, self-esteem and confidence. This transition leads to a healthier and more fulfilling life. Through therapy you have an opportunity to learn how to break unhealthy cycles of behaviour.
I hope by working together you will find the best version of yourself.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
