About me
I'm a Counselling Psychologist. I used to work in NHS services and I now work outside in nature. Therapy with me uses walk and talk appointments at a country park in Cambridge or a nature reserve near St Neots. This provides a different experience than being sat inside and can change how engaging in therapy feels. Some people find it easier to talk about difficulties in walk and talk sessions.
I provide therapy for a wide range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, and couples counselling.
I offer a free 30 minute telephone consultation. This allows me to find out what help is needed and to answer any questions. Having a telephone conversation can also help you decide who you would like to start therapy with.
My service is supportive and compassionate, and I provide therapy which is suited to your individual needs. There are different types of psychological therapy. I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and counselling. Sometimes I also incorporate mindfulness techniques. I'll explain how these therapies work and ask about your preferences. This will help us to decide whether CBT or counselling is best suited to you and the difficulty you're currently having.
I respect all aspects of difference and diversity.
You can contact me on 07498 375 415 or email.
Training, qualifications & experience
I'm a Counselling Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and a chartered member of the British Psychological Society. I worked in the NHS for seven years providing assessments and psychological therapy. I've served on the Ethics Committee for the British Psychological Society.
I did my training at City University in London and my research focused on identity. I worked in the NHS in Cambridgeshire in the Psychological Wellbeing Service (IAPT) and secondary care mental health teams for adults and older adults.
