Therapeutic Counsellor (MBACP, BSc, PGDip) Yew Counselling

About me

You or someone you know are needing some help or you wouldn't be looking at this directory.

My motivation as a counsellor is to facilitate the change my clients need. My reward is seeing the growth and stability that occurs. Nothing is more satisfying.

I offer care and compassion, working in a client centred approach. I will integrate various ways of working to suit you. My clients have included people of all ages, from school age to those of senior years, and I have loved working with them all.

Everyone’s life has storms. Sometimes they blow through and are over with quickly, and although we rock a bit, we stabilise quickly too. But a storm can blow us off course and we can be left feeling lost and alone. The storm may not even be apparent, but a feeling of unease and disturbance prevails.

Your inner wisdom has brought you here. Often, the hardest step is acknowledging a need and seeking help. You’ve made that step already. You are ready to change course.

I am warm, open and honest and will quickly set you at ease, allowing our therapeutic relationship to flourish. My counselling room helps you too, located as it is in a beautiful garden. The space is calming and therapeutic, and of course private and confidential.

Try me with a free 15 minute phone consultation where we can test our suitability for a therapeutic journey together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been fully qualified since 2022 and registered with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and am trained to work integratively within a person-centred context.

My pronouns are she/ her/ hers.

In addition to my private practice, I work voluntarily with clients through a local hospice. I have counselled in diverse settings from youth agency to hospice, as well as working as a volunteer school counsellor.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
