About me

I offer integrative therapy which means I draw from a number of approaches to work with you in a way that suits you and your individual needs.  My practice is warm and non-judgemental, and I create an environment in which we can understand and make meaning of your experience.

How can therapy help?

Life is often complex and exploring issues in conversation with another person can be illuminating, facilitating understanding of the present, and how past experiences may be influencing current issues.  This can and does bring about change in our relationship with ourselves and others.

What can you expect?

I offer an initial consultation to see whether you feel comfortable with me.  We might talk about what you want from the process, if you know, and discuss any questions you have.  We can then consider whether we would like to begin working together.

Sessions are 50 minutes each week at the same time.  You can talk about whatever is on your mind, from the past and the present, and bring feelings, thoughts and behaviours for us to consider together.  Your trust and sense of safety is important, and I will encourage you to discuss things when you are ready, moving at a pace that feels comfortable to you.

I offer short, long term and open ended therapy.  You can determine how long we work together, with my support if you need it, and we can discuss ending as and when it feels right for you as part of our ongoing conversations.

My practice is in South London between Tooting Bec and Balham tube stations and is also close to bus and train stops.  I offer both face to face and on-line sessions and consultations.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Diploma in Integrative Counselling (DipCon) awarded by the Minster Centre in London, one of Europe’s leading institutes for Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I am continuing my development by working towards an MA in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling, also at The Minster Centre.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and practice according to their ethical framework.

My work as a counsellor in a variety of settings, including Hackney Recovery Service, The Minster Centre's low-cost therapy service and Wandsworth Association of Psychotherapists’ low-cost therapy service, has given me the experience of working with a wide spectrum of issues and individuals from all walks of life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
