About me
Hi, I’m Louise, a fully qualified and BACP-registered counsellor offering a warm, confidential, and supportive space for adults aged 18 and over. I provide in-person counselling in Kings Hill, near West Malling in Kent, as well as online counselling across the UK. I offer both short-term, focused therapy and longer-term support, depending on your individual needs.
People come to counselling for many different reasons - perhaps feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low in mood or lacking confidence, or experiencing difficulties in relationships, work, or during times of change. You may be dealing with something significant, or simply feel a little stuck and unsure how to move forward. I offer a calm, non-judgemental environment where you can explore what is happening at your own pace, gain clarity, and develop a greater understanding of yourself.
I work with a wide range of issues, including anxiety and stress, grief and bereavement, depression and low mood, low self-esteem and confidence, relationship and family concerns, workplace stress and burnout, life transitions and personal growth, ADHD and neurodiversity, living with cancer or a serious illness diagnosis, trauma, and women's health issues. I have particular experience supporting younger adults as they navigate life transitions, including relationships, career decisions, and the challenges and uncertainties of early adulthood. I also have extensive experience supporting people through bereavement and loss, having worked with a UK bereavement charity and within a hospice setting. Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in recruitment, giving me valuable insight into workplace dynamics, career development and the pressures that can contribute to stress and burnout.
My approach is warm, grounded and empathetic - professional without feeling clinical. I work integratively, with a person-centred foundation, adapting our work to your individual needs, personality and circumstances. I believe that a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful and lasting change.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and hold a CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. My additional training includes a Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling, Level 3 Safeguarding Adults & Children, Cruse Bereavement Training, CPCAB Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies, and CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills. I also hold a BSc (Hons) in Russian & Law and regularly undertake continuing professional development (CPD) to develop my knowledge and skills.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I have undertaken extensive training in online and telephone therapy and offer online sessions via Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, or telephone. Many clients value being able to access counselling from their own home or another space where they feel comfortable, making it easier to fit support into their week.
If you would like to find out more about working with me, I offer a free 15-minute online consultation. This gives us an opportunity to briefly discuss what you are looking for and for you to decide whether I feel like the right therapist for you. If you would like to know more or book an appointment, please get in touch.
