About me
I am a BACP Registered Person-centred counsellor offering sessions in central Hove and online.
Sometimes it can feel as though there is a pressure to hold yourself together, manage what is expected of you, or be who others need you to be in different parts of your world. You may notice this in different ways, such as overthinking things after they happen, or a sense of lingering anxiety that stays with you longer than you would like. At times, it can feel easier to focus on other people’s needs than your own, especially when that has become a familiar way of getting by. Alongside this, there may be a quieter sense of not feeling fully at ease in yourself, or with where you are in life.
If this feels familiar, therapy can be a space where you don’t need to perform or get it right. You can begin from wherever you are, and take things at a pace that feels steady for you.
As a person-centred counsellor, I am not here to analyse you or give you a checklist of things to fix. I offer a quiet, gentle environment where you can slow down and feel genuinely heard. There is no pressure here to move quickly. Together, we can work to untangle the weight you might be carrying, helping you find a bit more balance and breathing room in your day-to-day life.
If you would like to see how it feels to work together, you are welcome to get in touch to arrange a free 30-minute introductory call. This is a chance to talk about what brings you to therapy and ask any questions, with no obligation to continue.
Training, qualifications & experience
- Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Awarded by the Counselling & Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB).
- Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Through my work with school, charity, and community counselling services, I have supported young people and adults experiencing anxiety, burnout, identity shifts, and difficult life transitions.
My experience has taught me that there is no single right way to do therapy. I am here to offer a dependable, down-to-earth space for whatever you choose to bring.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
