About me
My name is Louise Cushen and I am a qualified therapeutic counsellor, working in a reparative, person-centred way with an integrative training background. I have experience working with young people and adults to find their way through life's changes and challenges.
The beginning saw me working with the age group 16-19 year olds and this was extremely rewarding work. Offering support in the form of short and long term interventions for life's challenges, anxieties and age of self discovery.
Most recently I have been working with males 35 - 50 who are navigating moments past, present and future for them. Exploring their relationship with anger and how this is professionally, in relationships and for their mental and physical wellbeing.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am trained Counsellor with the qualification CPCAB Level 4 in Therapeutic Counselling.
I have been a trained Designated Safeguarding Lead, in sixth form school.
Extensive training and development and experience working with neurodivergence, suicide ideation, self harm, anger, identity, depression and anxiety.
Further training and development in trauma and somatics.
I have four years experience working in support within sixth form school and have a good understanding of what they experience as an age group.
I have worked with an online counselling service for the past two years. The service is an affordable offering, accessible to all. This is a nationwide service.
Clients come to explore versions of self and understand their boundaries. They come to process past trauma, understand relationships, unpick life events. They come looking for a change or understanding, but mainly they come to be heard.
