About me

Hello,

My name is Lotte, I am a qualified Art Psychotherapist and Psychosexual Psychotherapist and also offer EMDR and bereavement counselling for individuals as well as for couples.

The therapy I offer is informed by psycho-analytic ideas and attachment theory and offers a person-centred approach in which I combine different skills and techniques I gained through the trainings I undertook. I offer a confidential space that is free from judgement which gives you the opportunity to explore feelings, thoughts and experiences that are difficult to express and process. Perhaps these experiences are causing you too much emotional pain and impact on your daily life and relationships.

I believe that we often hold onto pictures and memories, conscious or unconscious, which can impact on how we engage with ourselves, our relationships and the world. By looking at those memories, images and patterns in a therapeutic space we learn to move forward, build meaningful healthy relationships, manage our feelings and thoughts better and aim to live a more fulfilling life.

Psycho Sexual Psychotherapy (for individuals and couples)

Psycho Sexual Psychotherapy is a type of talking therapy that is designed to help individuals and couples address medical, psychological, personal, and/or interpersonal factors impacting on sexual satisfaction. In this therapy we explore sexual issues and the impact these may have on your life and relationships either individually or with your partner. I will support you in exploring your sexuality and help you to develop a more conscious sexual self-esteem and enjoyment of your sexuality.

It might be that your sexual satisfaction and relationships are impacted due previous sexual trauma. I completed specialised training (CPD) with The Centre for Psycho-Sexual Health and trained in EMDR to support you with processing these memories and events.

What happens next?

Deciding to start therapy can feel as a big step and finding the right therapist can be challenging. I will offer a consultation first to explore whether I can offer you what you need. The therapy I offer can be short or long term, depending on your hopes and wishes. In our first meeting we will discuss what brought you to therapy and what it is that you would like to achieve in therapy.

After this first consultation you can then decide whether you would like to continue. If you do we will meet weekly or fortnightly on the same day at the same time.

I work with a team of therapists and psychologists  at HumanKind Psychotherapy & Training (see website) and also have low cost therapy for those on a low income. Get it touch to get to know whether this is something for you.

In total I completed 6 years of Art Psychotherapy training, in The Netherlands at the University of Applied Science in Utrecht (4 years), and in London at the University of Roehampton. I am also trained to offer EMDR and hold a diploma in Integrative Psychosexual Psychotherapy.
