About me

Hello

I qualified as a person-centred counsellor in July 2021 and I’m a registered member of the BACP.  I’m also registered with the Information Commissioners’ Office for Data Protection.

I’m passionate about improving clients’ well-being and self-care and I believe talking things through in a supportive environment really can help you work through what is going on for you right now.  It can take courage and/or determination to reach out for support and that’s what I’m here to do for you.

I’m committed to continual learning and developing my counselling practice to support you (my clients) whilst you work through what’s going on for you and I will support you whilst you figure things out.

I respect the individuality and diversity of my clients and will offer you a non-judgemental, confidential, therapeutic relationship where you can explore and/or work through things at your own pace, helping you to move forward in a way that feels right for you.

I’m experienced in working with adults (aged over 18 years) and offer either video sessions (via Zoom) or telephone sessions which can last up to 50 minutes per session.  Typically, our sessions will include me listening empathetically to what you want to share with me and work through what’s going on for you right now.  I may ask questions to help me understand what it’s like from your point of view, and when you’re comfortable working with me, we can explore how you may want to move forward in a way that feels right for you.

If you want to take the next step, contact me today to book an appointment. You can contact me either by email or phone.  If you ring and I can’t answer because I’m supporting another client, do please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as I can.  I’ll look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

Currently, I offer remote sessions via video call (Zoom) or telephone calls so please find a quiet, confidential space for us to talk without the risk of you being disturbed or interrupted.

From me, you can expect confidential, non-judgemental sessions, typically lasting up to 50 minutes, where you can talk, think or explore what may be going on for you right now.

I have a range of tools and/or techniques that we can draw on if you think they may help support you through our sessions, and if you choose to use them.

Our first session is typically an introductory session where we can discuss and agree if you'll feel comfortable with us working together.

We may go through expectations of sessions, how you think or hope counselling will help and/or support you.
