About me

Hi, my name is Lorna.

I am a qualified person centred counsellor and work essentially with an integrative, neurodivergent affirming approach. I specialise in supporting Neurodiverse young people and Adults ,including individuals with Autism or ADHD, as well as those exploring their own unique way of experiencing the world.

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming, confusing or isolating. You may struggle with relationships, social situations or feel exhausted from masking and trying to fit into environments that do not feel natural to you.

I offer a safe, calm and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.Together we can work to develop a deeper understanding of yourself, your needs and your strengths.

you do not need to have a formal diagnosis to seek support. Many clients i work with are exploring whether they may be Neurodivergent and want a space to explore this.

Alongside my private practice,i have experience supporting both young people and adults within educational and care settings, giving me a strong understanding of the challenges many people face around identity, emotional  regulation, mental health, social anxiety and relationships.

Counselling is a collaborative process and I offer both Short-term and longer term therapy, depending on your needs.

my private practice is based in a village just outside of yeovil, with free parking opposite and disabled access available.

If you would like to explore counselling futher, please feel free to get in touch to arrange an initial conversation.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
