About us
REMA Counselling is a BACP Accredited counselling service (BACP Reg No: 102605) in the heart of Watford Town Centre, that seeks to serve and help people of Watford and wider areas with a range of counselling needs including depression, bereavement and loss, stress, anxiety or relationship difficulties. We can provide you with a safe, quiet and confidential space where you can develop a deeper understanding of your own thoughts and process your feelings with the support of a counsellor. Your counsellor will not minimise the problems or pass judgment. They will not tell you what to do or give you advice. Rather, the counsellor will try to help you discover more about yourself, empowering you to find your own solutions.
Spirituality is important to us, however, we fully respect our clients' right to make their own decisions in all aspects of life, including faith. The service is offered to all, irrespective of religious, cultural or ethnic background. We use an integrative relational counselling model that can be tailored to meet the needs of a wide range of people aged 18 and over.
Training, qualifications & experience
Our Christian counsellors are trained at the London School of Theology, coming from a variety of cultural backgrounds and with a wide range of experience working with individuals. They are all trained towards becoming accredited with the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). We work within the BACP ethical framework and we are an official accredited service of the BACP. All counsellors are regularly clinically supervised in line with BACP regulations.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
