Need time for you, to talk and find you again? I offer a calm, non-judgemental and safe space to talk, to help you to make sense of what’s happened and life patterns, then work together towards making changes to build your emotional wellbeing and resilience.
I have over 25 years’ experience of working and supporting people of all ages, from a range of backgrounds and life experiences. As a qualified BACP registered integrative humanistic counsellor, I provide empathic, inclusive, flexible, non-judgemental therapeutic support using creative techniques suited to the individuals’ personal needs as a whole person. My emphasis is to offer creative therapeutic techniques and ideas to think, write or create between sessions. I specialise in working with people with a range of life issues including people who are living or had experiences of trauma, caring responsibilities, loss, anxiety, depression, domestic abuse, stress/ burnout.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a diploma in therapeutic integrative humanistic counselling and an MA in Social Work. I am BACP registered, insured and ICO registered. My humanistic integrative approach is person-centred, with influences from Gestalt, transactional analysis and internal systems theory using strength based, solution focused techniques and mindfulness.
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which can be incorporated into our sessions and I am currently training in Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
I have completed independent training in solution-focussed, strength based therapy and motivational interviewing as well as work based experience of providing family/mediation work alongside a systemic family therapist.
I have experience and training in a supporting people experiencing a huge range of issues including supporting people who self-harm, are in abusive relationships, have experiened abuse, neglect, exploitation; people who have caring responsibilities, as well as loss and trauma.
My professional development is maintained and I am committed to keeping my knowledge and awareness updated.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
