About me
Sometimes life can feel like a struggle, or it may feel like you have lost direction. This can be because of things that have happened to you or around you, or it could be that things don't feel right within you. Counselling can give you the space to explore what's going on for you.
You don't need to feel like you're in crisis to have counselling. It's a way to take care of yourself on the inside.
When we work together you'll have a safe, empathic, and non-judgemental space to explore where you're at and what's going on for you. This will help you gain a better understanding of yourself, and find a clearer path forward in your life.
I offer walk and talk sessions, as I've found that walking in nature can help people to relax and find clarity about what's happening for them. You can find out more about this in the video below.
Training, qualifications & experience
I'm Lisa, and I believe that you are the expert on you. My aim is to help you to believe and trust in this.
I'm a COSCA qualified person-centred counsellor and a member of the NCPS. This means that I follow the COSCA Code of Ethics, and the NCPS Ethical Framework in the work I do. I work with adults (18+) who are facing issues such as anxiety and panic, depression, bereavement and loss, trauma, and low self-esteem.
My role in our work together is to create a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space for you to explore what's going on for you. I'll draw on my professional skills and on the trust and connection we build to help you on your journey.
You hold the map. I'll accompany you and help you make sense of it.
I'm excited to meet you and see where we can go.
I'm based in Linlithgow, Scotland but can offer online counselling to anyone in the UK.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
