About me
Transpersonal Arts Counsellor MCGI
Biographical Counsellor BACP (Accred)
Life is unpredictable, and at some point, we are all touched by experiences that challenge how we navigate our daily lives. In my role, I offer support to help people through those challenges - moments that can feel overwhelming, leaving uncertainty about how to move forward or even where to begin. My aim is to help facilitate meaningful change within the context of each person's life, with respect for the unique story they carry and a genuine belief in the potential for understanding, healing, and renewal that lies within it.
What is Biographical Counselling?
Biographical Counselling is a way of connecting with your life story. By exploring your biography - the events, relationships, and turning points that have shaped you - we can look at your current situation with fresh perspective, uncovering what may be holding you back and finding greater clarity and meaning along the way.
Life crises, anxiety, depression, trauma, illness, grief and loss all shape how we relate to the world, to others, and to ourselves. Using a variety of practical activities, Biographical Counselling helps you better understand these challenges, build resilience, and make more informed choices. My role is not to fix your situation, but to accompany you - at your pace, in your way - on a path toward healing.
The Role of the Arts
My approach is to weave into the Biographical Counselling process the use of the creative arts - drawing, painting, clay work, storytelling, and writing. As a Transpersonal Arts Counsellor, I use these as therapeutic tools to help facilitate the work we do together.
The arts offer a unique way into the inner world, allowing expression of what words alone sometimes cannot reach - unconscious feelings, inner conflicts, and experiences that are difficult to articulate. These creative methods act as a bridge between inner and outer worlds, bringing what is felt but not yet understood into clearer awareness.
You do not need to be skilled in the creative arts to take part in arts counselling, it is about how you interact with the process.
While I often combine both approaches, I also work with each method independently.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Diploma in Biographical Counselling. The training was run by The Biography and Social Development Trust and accredited by the BACP.
As a Biographical Counsellor MBACP (Accredited) I have over 10 years of experience working voluntarily with charitable organisations and more recently in private practice, particularly with issues of bereavement, grief and loss. I currently teach 'Biography' as a guest tutor at the Tobias School of Art and Therapy.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
