About me

I've been a counsellor for 20 years. What I care about most about is making sure you feel safe, heard, and genuinely supported from the moment you arrive. I am a warm, non-judgemental professional, and I'm here to help you.

Life can be really hard sometimes, and make us feel overwhelmed, anxious or lost. I believe that with the right support, things can change, and I'd love to help.

Together we'll explore what's brought you here, but gently and at your own pace. I will support you to help you understand yourself better and develop new strategies to move forward.

I've supported people through all kinds of difficulties. You might recognise your situation from the list further down the page, or you may be dealing with something else. Either way, you're welcome to get in touch.

My approach

I believe everyone is an individual, so I take an integrative approach. This means I combine strategies depending on your needs.

At the heart of my practice is a person-centred philosophy. You set the agenda, and the sessions revolve entirely around your needs. You know yourself better than anyone, and my job is to listen.

I draw on my experience and will ask questions to help me understand your feelings, point of view and situation, then we'll find the strategies that will work for you.

My experience

During my two decades of experience, I spent 10 years as a grief counsellor with Cruse and worked more generally with Help. Now I have my own private practice, working with individuals and couples. I'm a registered member of the BACP (No. 00768996).

I am happy to see you at my home in Trowbridge, or online/on the telephone.

Worried about cost? In these tough times it is most important to me that everyone is able to access the support they need. I keep my prices flexible so that I can help as many people as possible, because that is most important to me. Please get in touch to discuss your circumstances, I'm sure I'll be able to help.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
