About me

Based in Bordon but covering areas from Farnham, Liphook and Petersfield, my aim is to work with you to talk through your difficulties and issues to help you to seek and find a way to get a solution to your problems.

Through providing a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space, this will allow you to trust and talk about your issues and concerns. My aim is  to "be with you" throughout these difficult times and to also have the skills and expertise to enable you to find the parts of yourself that you need to recover or find a solution in your life. .

Counselling is provided in a confidential environment and will work at your own pace and at a time convenient for you. Counselling can be seen to be a journey to be embarked on "together." I (as the counsellor) will act as the mirror to enable you to explore and look at yourself and thus enable you to create the changes you desire.

I am trained in the 5 relational model. This incorporates the Psychodynamic relationship which looks at the unconscious and patterns that stem and re-emerge from the past, It is also based on the Reparative relationship which allows you to receive a repairing relationship. I also work in the ‘here and now’ relationship in the room and also with the working alliance relationship. Finally the transpersonal relationship can also be drawn upon.

I believe change can take place once the cause of pain and difficulty is sourced and given the right conditions strength can be found within yourself to move forward with your life. The counselling relationship is a relationship that is created and formed together to work through, however you are the focus of that relationship.

I have worked for the civil service for 15 years and have been used to supporting the public  with difficulties in their lives and helping them to move forward with their lives.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have always been passionate about counselling and the process. I have studied for 5 years and have a full Honours Degree in Counselling (2013)  and am registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I am trained in the Clarkson 5 Modality Model. This means that I work with my clients using different modalities of relationship. I will firstly work with you to form a Working Alliance and agree a fee, time and arrangements which are workable to both of us. While in the relationship, I will draw on elements of the psychodynamic and look at aspects of your past that impact you today. I will draw on the transference and countertransference dynamic and look at what patterns of relationship are happening between ourselves. I will work with the Reparative modality and help to heal the past attachments and insecure relationships. I shall also work with the 'I - Thou' which is to be real with each other. I shall also bring in elements of the Transpersonal relationship, the intuitive process or spiritual element.

The premise of myself is that the "relationship" is central for healing and it is a relationship of trust and deep care that I hope to develop in the counselling room.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
