About me

I am a Psychodynamic Integrative Therapist offering counselling in Elstree, Hertfordshire, face-to-face and online.

I understand that reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step, particularly if you are used to coping alone. You may simply feel that something in your life needs attention or a little more understanding. Whatever has brought you here, you don't need to have all the answers before we begin.

I aim to offer a warm, confidential, and compassionate space where you can feel comfortable being yourself, talk openly, and feel genuinely heard. My hope is that therapy can be a place where you feel accepted and supported, without judgement, while having the time and space to explore what is important to you.

I believe that every person's story is unique, and I work alongside you to gently explore your experiences, deepen your self-awareness, and understand patterns that may be affecting the way you feel or relate to yourself and others. Together, we can begin to make sense of what you have been through and explore what feels authentic and meaningful to you.

My approach is genuine and relational, with the therapeutic relationship at the heart of my work. I believe that feeling safe, understood, and accepted can create the foundation for meaningful change. I work alongside you at a pace that feels right for you, offering a safe, empathic, confidential, and non-judgemental space throughout our work together.

I draw on Person-Centred, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches, creating a flexible framework that can be tailored to your individual needs. My work may involve reflecting on early experiences and relationships to develop a deeper understanding of how they may influence your thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and relationships in the present.

There may be parts of ourselves that we do not fully understand. I aim to provide the space for these deeper layers to gently emerge and be explored, helping you develop greater clarity, self-understanding and acceptance.

I work with adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, stress, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, bereavement, abuse, addiction, eating disorders and depression.

Training, qualifications & experience

Alongside my private practice, I currently work with a charity supporting women affected by domestic and sexual abuse. This work has given me valuable experience in supporting women who have experienced trauma and significant life challenges. I have also gained valuable experience working as a counsellor in a school in Barnet, supporting young people.

I hold an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Counselling, having completed three years of professional training at CPPD in North London.

My training and experience continue to shape my practice, allowing me to offer an approach that is compassionate, thoughtful, and responsive to each individual I work with.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
