About me
Thank you for visiting my profile. I am a qualified and experienced (10+ years) therapist/counsellor and I work with individual adults, adolescents, children, parents and families. I offer support with emotional difficulties including separation, depression, anxiety and relationship issues. I offer regular meetings in a safe and supportive environment, within a professional setting online and in person.
I specialise in the following areas of counselling:
Counselling for Adolescents and Young people experiencing:
- Behavioural problems.
- Difficulty in forming friendships.
- Problems within family relationships.
Therapeutic play/Play therapy for children who:
- Have suffered trauma, loss, separation.
- Have experienced anxiety/phobias.
- Appear to be withdrawn or depressed.
- Who have suffered due to separated or divorced parents or the absence of a parent.
How long does counselling take?
Sometimes it may take a few sessions to help an individual or family find their way at other times difficulties are more complicated and we work for longer to find the best solutions.
How does it help?
Counselling can help when we feel overwhelmed, not sure what to do for the best or feel 'stuck' in repeated patterns of behaviour.

Qualifications
- I am a registered member of the BACP and the CYP division. (Children and young people.)
- Advanced Certificate in Adult counselling.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling for families. children and adolescents - Birkbeck College, University of London.
- Teaching Qualification - Goldsmiths College- University of London.
- I am qualified to work with children and families in school and educational settings.
- Have experience in working for voluntary agencies.
I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling & Psychotherapy and I have public liability & professional indemnity insurance.
I attend regular supervision in line with BACP requirements.
I hold an enhanced DBS.
Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
