About me

Hello, I’m Libby, a psychotherapeutic counsellor based in Sheffield. I aim to offer a compassionate, non-judgmental environment where you can reconnect with your authentic self. I specialise in helping individuals who have experienced trauma and/or abuse, are struggling with depression or anxiety, feeling disconnected from themselves, or having difficulties in relationships (including your relationship with yourself and boundaries). In our sessions, there’s room for all of you. Whether you've experienced trauma, anxiety, low mood, relationship challenges, or just need to explore who you are beneath the labels, I’m here to support you.

My approach is rooted in empathy, respect, connection and collaboration. I incorporate elements from multiple therapeutic approaches, tailoring sessions to help you explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of judgment. In our sessions, you’ll find a space where you can truly be yourself, as you are today and work towards feeling more like your whole self again.

Training, qualifications & experience

I’m an NCPS (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society) Accredited Registrant and hold a Level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. Most of my counselling experience has been in the charity sector, most recently, supporting women with lived experiences of trauma, abuse and challenging relationships through long-term therapy.

My approach is pluralistic and integrative, which means I have trained in a number of different techniques, and will incorporate elements from multiple approaches into our sessions, with Person-Centred and Trauma-Informed Therapy at the heart. Connection is always at the core of my work - whether that’s with others or, more often, your relationship with yourself. I tailor each session to your unique needs at the time, so together, we'll explore the things that matter most to you, and develop a way forward that feels right for you.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

For in-person sessions: the room and building are wheelchair accessible, however unfortunately there are no accessible toilet facilities onsite.
