About me
Hello
Welcome to my profile. I am Lesley, founder of Clarity counselling services. I am a qualified and registered counsellor, working with Adult clients online via Zoom and face to face in a welcoming environment in the city of Canterbury, Kent. I work with those experiencing a variety of emotions, situations and issues and have a passion for helping others experiencing low self-esteem, anxiety, loss of personal identity, low mood and depression.
Often the expectations of society or others puts pressure on us to be who they think we should be, leading to feelings of uselessness, worthlessness and despair. This can lead to many issues, such as anxiety, loss of identity, low self-esteem, depression and more. Focusing on your own values and beliefs, I can help you to rediscover who you are, recognise your self-worth, and value what is important to you; strengthening your sense of self and empowering you to move forward with a self-assured confidence.
How I work
My counselling training, experiences and background in health and wellbeing provides me with the understanding of how important it is to work with others in a way that is valuable to them as an individual. I am able to use varied modalities in my practice, giving me the flexibility to personally tailor your counselling in a way which will benefit you the most.
I believe that everybody has the ability to find their way towards a positive path, and my aim is to provide you with understanding, empathy and encouragement along the way.
I offer face to face sessions in the heart of Canterbury and online sessions, which are via Zoom online meeting platform. Each session lasts for 50 minutes. My working hours are Monday to Friday - mornings, afternoons and some evenings.
For those who prefer online counselling, you will have access from your location, giving you the convenience of being in a place that is familiar and comfortable, helping you to feel relaxed and at ease. Three things that are required for getting the most out of online sessions are a quiet, private space where you cannot be overheard, a good internet connection and a charged device.
I welcome you to get in touch using the links above, if you would like to book a free introductory call, learn more about my availability, or have any questions regarding my practice.
Training, qualifications & experience
As a qualified and registered counsellor, I have knowledge and experience gained from working with clients who have many and varied reasons for seeking help. I understand that everybody has their own unique view of the world, from individual experiences, values, beliefs and cultures. It is important to me that you feel recognised as being a unique individual and I am qualified to use various counselling methods, which I will tailor to suit your needs and be of the most benefit to you.
My experience working alongside clients living with with anxiety, low self-esteem and loss of personal identity, gives me a passion to help others rediscover their true self and recognise what is important to them, helping them to feel confident and self-assured as they move towards achieving their counselling goals.
I am trained and certified to work online, which gives me the extra skills, tools and knowledge to ensure I provide a remote service that is effective, ethical, safe and secure.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
