About me

I work with both individuals and couples, using a number of different approaches in order to tailor the therapy to your needs.  If you'd like to know more about how I work, perhaps you have questions or would like to assess if we will be a good fit, we can arrange a 20minute telephone consultation, free of charge.

I am an experienced psychotherapist and counsellor with a degree qualification as an integrative relational therapist.  My training allows more flexibility in being able to use different psychotherapy and counselling approaches to suit your individual needs.   The relational approach means we work together in a considered and empathic way to ensure the best outcome for you.

During my years practising as a therapist, I have developed effective techniques to help with anxiety, a negative mindset, unreal narratives and unhelpful behavioral patterns.  I am interested in how we talk to ourselves, how we communicate, the language we use, what we hear compared to what has been said, particularly in relationship.   For couples, it's important to consider what's missing in the relationship, what is working between you and what isn't? What is present and what is past?  Working towards communicating more effectively, voicing needs, wants, desires and what's possible.

I work confidentially and ethically within the ethical framework of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy)

My private practices are located in East Molesey, KT8, just off Walton Road and St Margarets, TW1, a 5minute walk from the station.  The rooms are lovely and comfortable, providing a relaxing space to talk.

Where to start?

Please contact me either via email, text message, Whatsapp or phone call.

Each session is 50minutes, usually at the same time each week, however I am flexible and will always try and accommodate you where possible.    Short term or long-term therapy is available.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at Middlesex University graduating with a BA (Hons) degree in Integrative Relational Psychotherapy & Counselling.

My years working in an NHS GP Practice was very rewarding, working with a wide range of clients from 16 years old.

I have experience using Guided Mindfulness practices which we can practice in the session together or I can support you with trying mindfulness in the comfort of your own home to access whenever you feel overwhelmed and need to find a moment of being present.

CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) is effective in increasing awareness of negative thought patterns and unhelpful behavioral patterns, tailoring tools & techniques in order to change to a more positive, peaceful mindset.

Working with many OCD clients, I use ERP - Exposure Response Prevention Therapy as an effective approach in reducing the anxiety that intrusive/distressing thoughts creates. ERP used correctly helps to reduce compulsions/behaviours  that are put into place to help alleviate the anxiety.

I am a registered member of the BACP and work within the guidelines outlined by the Ethical Framework for Counselling Professions.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
