About me

Hello, My name is Leanne and I am a fully qualified counsellor in Essex. I have over ten years' experience volunteering and working in mental health; currently in the NHS as a CBT therapist. I also deliver Mental Health First Aid training. I offer face to face sessions in a private space with off street parking. I also offer online (zoom) and telephone sessions.

I work as an integrative counsellor which means I work in a variety of ways to suit you. I have extended training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) if you would like to work this way and I am also qualified as an eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) practitioner.

I am here to offer an open, safe space where I will listen to you, without judgement. We can work in a structured way heading towards goals or in a more open way, exploring and reflecting on anything that matters to you. I offer a free 20 minute consultation, so get in touch to set this up.

Training, qualifications & experience

My Quaifications:

  • BSc with Honors - Law and Psychology
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Evidence Based CBT
  • Level 2 in Counselling Skills
  • Level 3 in Counselling Studies
  • Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Qualified as an EMDR practitioner with The EMDR Academy

I have membership with both the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
